Athletics Department

The East Catholic School Department of Athletics oversees all sports activities for the School. While athletics is part and parcel of the academic program, a more active and vibrant athletics program is run by the Department through the the East Catholic School Athletic Advisory Association (ECSAAA), which is engaged in a variety of sporting activities, which add to the physical education and development of students. Among the activies include Little Hoopers, JV, Varsity, Soccer, Cross-country, Cheerleading and Volleyball.

Your child (children) must must register and sign a participation release in order to participate in athletic activities at the school. Download a Registration Form here; download a Participation Release Form here. Hard copies of both forms must be submitted to East Catholic School.

Registration Fee Information

Current Registration Fees an be found on the Registration Form. The fees are per activity (basketball, cheerleading, cross-country, soccer and volleyball, with a maximum cap per family per school year. Please note the registration fee does not include non-competitive programs (Little Kickers and Little Hoopers), fundraising, or uniform/volunteering fees.

Basketball

Little Hoopers

Girls and boys in grades 1-2 can take part in this instructional basketball program that teaches the students the basic skills involved in basketball, i.e., dribbling, shooting, ball handling, etc.

Jump Start

Girls and boys in grades 3 and 4 learn the fundamentals of basketball through games played with teams from other schools.

JV Basketball

Girls and boys in grades 5 and 6 are eligible for junior varsity play. Games are normally played on Saturday before the Varsity game.

Varsity Basketball

Boys and girls in grades 7 and 8 are eligible.   Games are normally played on Saturdays.

Cheerleading

Students in grades 5-8 participate in the East Catholic Cheerleading squad to help inspire school spirit and team play. Cheerleaders cheer during home basketball games.

Cross Country

Girls and boys in grades 1-8 are eligible for this fall sport. Practices are twice per week with meets on the weekends. The overriding goal is to improve the fitness level of each individual participating.

All races held at Frick Park have their start line at the Bowling Greens.

Soccer

Little Kickers

Girls and boys in grades 1-2 can take part in this instructional soccer program that teaches the students the basic skills involved in this sport.

Developmental Soccer

Girls and boys in grades 3 and 4 are eligible. This sport is played in the spring and fall. Each team is co-ed. The game is played at Wilkins Primary School.

JV Soccer

Girls and boys in grades 5 and 6 are eligible for JV play. Home games are played on the soccer field at Woodland Hills High School.

Varsity Soccer

Girls and boys in grades 7 and 8 are eligible for varsity play. Home games are played on the soccer field at Woodland Hills High School.

Volleyball
